Ranking the SEC Quarterbacks(projected starters) 1 - 12

#1 - Tim Tebow, Florida. Senior that could be rated No. 1 in the nation at QB, over the likes of Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford. Tebow has 67 career TD passes and only 11 interceptions, 2,037 rush yds and 43 rush TDs. I wonder if he will win his 2nd Heisman and 3rd National Championship this year. Most likely we'll never see another player like Tim in our lives.

#2 - Jevan Snead, Ole Miss. In his first year Jevan led Ole Miss to a Cotton Bowl victory and Ole Miss' first winning season since Eli was in Oxford. His stats from last year are above par, but during his last 6 games he threw 16 TDs and only 3 pics (which included Auburn, LSU, and Texas Tech). If Snead can raise his completion percentage from last season (56.3) and throw less pics (13), he could be the best QB in the SEC this year, maybe the nation.

#3 Jordan Jefferson, LSU. Barely played in 5 games last year and started the last 2 as a freshman, going 1-1 as a starter. He lead the Tigers to 38-3 bowl win over ranked Georgia Tech. Jefferson is primed for even better results after completing 36 of 73 passes for 419 yds and 4 TDs with one pic. Also had 77 rush yds and a TD. He'll lead an offense that features the best RB's in the SEC, and the WR corps headed by top SEC WR Brandon Lafell.

#4 Ryan Mallet, Arkansas. Former University of Michigan starter, the 6-7 248-pound Mallet has impressed coaches with his strength and ability to throw the accurate deep-ball. In the spring game, he was 15 of 26 for 233 yds with 2 TDs and 2 pics. Second year freshman Tyler Wilson might get swapped around with Mallet for a QB duo threat.

#5 Joe Cox, Georgia. Cox is an untested senior who was 11 of 15 for 151 yds and 2 TDs last year, playing in only 3 games.. Richt has a lot of confidence in his starting senior QB and claims he is extremely accurate and knows the offense thoroughly. This new made leader finally has his chance to be great with Stafford gone.

#6 Stephen Garcia, South Carolina.
Garcia was out done by Smelley last year and only played in 8 games. He was 65 of 122 for 832 yds and 6 TDs. His completion pct. (53.3) needs work and can't throw more pics (8) than TDs. The Gamecocks finished last in the SEC last year in rushing and 112 in the nation. If they can improve the running game, things will open up for sophomore QB.

#7 - Greg McElroy, Alabama.
Junior QB who's been watching and learning from Bama's all-time best, JP Wilson, for the past 3 years. He's a 6-2, 220-pounder that would put you in mind of LSU's Matt Maulk. Saban claims he's very good at managing the offense and will have an excellent receiving corps led by star WR Julio Jones. Lacks experience with only 11 pass attempts last season.

#8 Mike Hartline, Kentucky.
Junior QB completed 172 of 311 passes for 1,666 yds and 9 TDs with 8 INTs. Mike and So. QB Randall Cobb traded snaps and games all season, Hartline for passing and Cobb for tucking it in and getting yards on the ground. If Hartline can be more consistent with completing his passes (55.3) and make more big plays he'll stay on the field more and the offense can adjust to one style fo play.

#9 Kodi Burns, Auburn.
The offense down on the Plains was just terrible last year and Kodi Burns coudln't do anything to help it. His efficiency was under 100.00, completed only 52.5 pct. of his passes and only threw 2 TDs with 7 INTs. On a lighter note he did run in 5 scores and 411 yds on 98 carries. With another new spread playbook hopefully they can stick to the running game with this QB.

#10 Johnathon Crompton, Tennessee.
The offense was worse in Knoxville than it was at Auburn. The Vols were 110th in scoring, 115th in ypg and 107th in passing. Ugly. Crompton is still the starter only because Nick Stephens did little better. He was 86 of 167 for 889 yds and 4 TDs with 5 INTs. Only played in 8 games, and if I had to guess he might play less this year unless he can improve.

#11 Tyson Lee, Miss State.
Lee completed 153 of 260 for 1..519 yds and 7 TDs with 5 INTs. Head Coach Dan Mullen has been a long time assistant to Urban Meyer. His spread attack offense, which he says will focus on the run, should help Lee control the football and improve his decision making abilities. Only time will tell with this QB, who lead his offense to a 113th finish last year.

#12 Larry Smith, Vanderbilt. Made his debut in season finale against Wake Forest last year and started the Music City Bowl win against Boston College. The redshirt sophomore showed great promise in the spring game and has so far won the starting job. Fifth-year senior Mackenzi Adams has been in and out of the starting line-up over the past two seasons and is waiting in the wings should Smith falter.
