Unfortunately I didn't make a Pre-season Top 11 last year for the Podcast because I started it around week four. So reading up on returning players, replacements, and coaching changes has been a real treat this time around. The #1 was easiest. The Gators are bringing back all 11 starters on a defense that finished 4th in scoring and 9th total. Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, and Sam Bradford were enough for me to make their teams 1, 2, and 3. USC, as usual, is in a league of their own in the Pac-10. Penn State has Ohio State coming to their turf this time around, so I expect them to win the Big Ten. The SEC West is not big enough to contain Bama, Ole Miss, and LSU... so somebody has to come out on top. Oklahoma State can't be counted out either in the Big 12 South, and won't surprise me too much if they edge past OU and UT to play in the Big 12 Champ game. There are still so many teams who could be in this beginning 11; GA Tech, Boise, Cal, Oregon, FSU, TCU, Utah, Nebraska... so I'm sure we'll see some slip around. These SEC and Big 12 teams will surely beat each other up and V-Tech and Bama play in Atlanta in week one!

I would have switched Ohio St and Penn
you can't be serioous? mississippi, lsu, and alabama all in the top 10??? so are you picking ole miss to play florida in sec championship game? i just don't see how 3 west teams could finaish top 10.
wes
whoever could have seen 3 big 12 south teams finish in the top 10 last year?
Just to clarify with the 3 SEC West teams in the top 11, this is a preseason poll. It is not a prediction of the final standings but more a rank of talent and coaching to show the best 11 teams in the country coming into the new season. That said I like the picks.
-"Have a Great day."
okay give us prediction on v-tech vs bama!!!
This is more of a preseason power poll. I thought I put a 13 and older warning on my website. Kids please behave. If I have to get involved again, then you're banned. Enjoy!
I would've put Oregon over Ok St, besides that this is as good as preseason rankings get
Wes, this "preseason" poll is more of where these teams stand before the season starts. Only Phil Steele and the Lord Jesus know where they'll end up. I do think the Rebs, Tide, and Tigers can all finish in the AP top 10, y not, when they're all starting there to begin with. It'd be nice to have five 10-win teams in the SEC.
Nice a Tom's Top 11!! If the Gators do win it all then let Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU all go 10-2!! Let the SEC reign supreme for 4th year in a row!!!
4 sec teams finishing in top 10 is not that silly. in fact it's a top heavy league this year in my opinion. you could easily have four 10 win teams. last year there were two 12 win teams, one 10 win team, and one 9 win team.
