Thanks SEC Football Podcast Fans!

What a season for the SEC?! A slow start with embarrassing out-of-conference losses like Duke over Vandy, Wake over Ole Miss, LA Tech over Miss State, Wyoming and UCLA over Tennessee. But we produced 8 bowl teams and 6 bowl wins. Vandy had a historic season finishing with a winning record for the first time since 1982. Rich Brooks leads Kentucky to it's 3rd bowl win in a row. Georgia's Mark Richt is one of only 3 current head coaches to finish with at least 10 wins in 6 of the last 7 years! LSU under Les Miles goes to 4-0 in bowls with an average margin of victory of 40 to 11. Ole Miss proves to the entire world that the SEC is the best conference in the land by spanking Texas Tech in the Cotton. And of course the National Champion Florida Gators! It's safe to say the conference got better as the season went along. It also seems that all across the country the talent level keeps getting higher.

Is it too early to start making predictions for 2009? Never! How soon can I pick up a copy of Lindy's? How about this? Ole Miss will be picked to win the West. Florida to repeat in the East.

We covered an entire season of SEC Football through 27 shows and over 50 blog posts and it was no easy task. Hopefully we have the passion and energy to do this all over again in 2009. Thanks to our loyal listeners we became one of the top podcasts on iTunes under the College/High School Sports Category. For 10 straight weeks we were listed under the "Top Podcasts" over big media shows like "Best Damn Sports Podcast", "CBS College Sports Podcast", and "Rivals.com Podcast". It's not that the host is great, it's that our subject, SEC Football, is SECond to none.
